Today, I received news that someone very near and dear to my heart lost her battle with depression. Mainou Vue - daughter, sister, aunt, friend and fellow artist crossed over today, October 15th, 2022.

Mainou has had a place in my heart and the heart of so many of our In Progress artists since we first met her back in 2007. She spent a big part of her childhood taking photographs, making movies and honoring the stories of her family. She was a strong spirit, full of laughter and joy. She was a leader with a big heart for others.

Over the past few years, Mainou has been open about the struggles she faced with her mental health, again sharing her story in hopes of helping and healing others facing the same.

I have started this Go Fund Me on behalf of Mainou's family as the cost of burial and hosting families will be great, and Mainou did not have life insurance or savings that might help contribute to these costs.
