Funeral expenses & help Gin get back on her feet
Donation protected
My name is Gin. I’ve had a pretty tough time in the last 2 years.
My husband and I lost our Chinese restaurant to Covid and anti-Asian sentiment. I did the best I could for my employees, paid them their full wages, and found them new jobs in March of 2020.
I took a job in North Carolina to provide for us both. We moved in with my extended family. My husband never recovered from the loss of his dream to own a business, and ended his life in November of 2021. Leaving me in debt and with a car I couldn’t afford, and reeling. But at least I had my job.
And then, in March 2022, I was let go.
I’ve restarted my life 3 times since March 2020. And now I’m starting it again.
On July 1st, I accepted a new position, better than the role I recently lost. I’m moving back to the Midwest, not quite home, but as close as I can for now. But now I have impending moving costs, limited help, and also international funerary arrangements to pay for to reunite my family-in-law in China with their son’s remains.
The $10,000 goal would help me pay for permits to send my husband home to China, help cover my moving costs, and help me catch up on bills and debts.
I hate asking for help. But if you can, please help me restart my life, and find a way to get closure for my husband’s family. I sincerely appreciate any bit of help I can get. Thank you all so much.
