Zoe M. Kennedy is a brilliant star in the skies of everyone lucky enough to have met her. In her childhood, Zoe was a bubbly, happy girl who loved to sing and dance, take in nature, and play along with her friends and young family members. Always a quick study, Zoe could often be found with a book in her hand, quietly devouring chapters of many an entire series. Academically Zoe thrived. Her entire school career is marked with ribbons, awards and accolades, but we remember the painted nails, hours of practicing the saxophone, and countless hair bows. Zoe had kindness and a soft, flexible demeanor that brought her many friends and the admiration of her peers. She was always quick to quip in a joke but often replied with a mischievous "Whatever". She loved so fiercely; all of her family, her friends, animals and pets, her hobbies (like taking photos with her Fuji instax camera), and flavoring everything with sauces hotter than the sun itself. Zoe was creative. She learned to sew, crochet and knit with her elder matriarchs from a young age and then added painting, cross stitching, stain glass making and more as she grew. She was the kind of person to step in and help out, often putting herself in an authoritative role to create a plan and execute the tasks. Zoe gave her future serious thought from a young age even if the direction would frequently change. She wanted to adopt at least once. She wanted to travel the world. She wanted to be a fashion designer, a social worker, a baker, a dancer, a doctor, and after watching every crime series out there she thought she wanted to be a lawyer for a while too. She finally settled on being a teacher and was taking classes at the local college while working part time at a variety of retail jobs.
On August 13th our star suddenly became an Angel and our skies have since been very dark. The absence of Zoe is a deafening silence we should not know and our grief is deeply rooted in the love we have for her; love that we must now give each other. The best way to honor this bright, caring, beautiful soul is to go out and carry on good deeds in her name. To be the kindness she would have been and spread joy to others in what a singing little girl once called "big heart love".
