Funeral Expenses for Victor Martinez

Donation protected

After a month of fighting off complications due to the Covid-19 virus,  Victor D. Martinez lost that fight but won his heavenly wings on Thursday, August 27 at Bakersfield Adventist Health Hospital.

Victor leaves behind his beautiful and heartbroken wife, Emelina and their children,  Adriel (age 13) and Ambrielle (age 5).

For those that didn't have the opportunity to know this man, he was an all-around good person and a joy to be around. Victor was a family man. He stayed involved in his children's activities, whether it was school functions, sports, band, working on projects like fixing up his son's bicycle and mini truck for show, taking his baby girl to ballet or showing up as Santa Clause at Christmas parties. The list of things he stayed engaged in goes on an on.

On the other hand, Victor to many will always be remembered as DJ V Funk. Servicing the community of Porterville and the surrounding areas, Victor would provide music of every genre from school dances, birthday parties, wedding receptions, car shows, and one event that was close to his heart, Mothers United Against Gang Violence, founded by his wife and her mother Mary Martinez in 2010.

Employed with Porterville Developmental Center (PDC), Victor was a Custodial Supervisor for many years. He put his very own health on the line everyday, to assure patients, residents and staff had a healthy, sanitized living and working area in spite of knowing he could very well be in contact with the one deadliest virus that later took his life.

My name is Cheryl Creque, and have been a close family friend and have assisted in organizing events and being a spokesperson for the family in the past. With a heavy heart I accepted the family’s request to reach out to those who are able to provide financial help and or support during this critical time.

As we all know, this is a time for grieving, not stress. Getting finances together during this pandemic is hard enough and can take time.  Victor and Emelina have always been givers, expecting  nothing back in return than knowing they have blessed others in a time of need. Let's pay it forward and show the same kindness and selfless act.

Arrangement are currently being setup at Porterville Funeral and Cremation Center. For any further questions or concerns please reach out to Mary Martinez.

Thank you in advance for all the love and support, prayer and condolences during this difficult time.
