Funeral Expenses for Trina Martinez

Our beloved relative Trina Babamashikwe Martinez “Woman Who Travels with the Wind” made her journey to the Spirit World on Sunday, August 29th. She was a loving mother, sister, daughter, auntie, and friend. She also cultivated a network of Native women through her talent of singing. She was a beautiful spirit and will be deeply missed.

She leaves behind three children, who have been doing their best to make her final arrangements. Those whom love her also wish to send her off in a good way, however, we are needing support from the community for her burial. Trina was a citizen of the Red Lake Nation of Ojibwe, so they are able to provide some support for her funeral expenses and we are thankful they are able to do so. Trina was also Midewin, a citizen of the Grand Medicine Society, so her burial is to be done in a ceremonial way. We are asking for your help to cover funeral costs. Anything helps!
