Funeral Expenses for Thomas Ruvalcaba
Donation protected
It is with a heavy heart that I share this news.
On December 24th, my best friend’s father, Thomas Ruvalcaba began showing symptoms and shortly thereafter tested positive for COVID -19. As a high risk individual, he fought for nine days making steady improvements while quarantining. However, on January 2nd he lost consciousness. His son, Alex, immediately dialed 911, but while enroute to the hospital, Thomas Ruvalcaba passed away from cardiac arrest.
Mr. Ruvalcaba was 56 years old, a husband to Maria, a father to son Alex, and father to daughter Gaby. He was committed to his family, willing to make any sacrifice to maintain their well-being. Every job was precious and meant a better life for them, whether it was working at a factory or food service. Mr. Ruvalcaba was your typical Mexican man. He loved his wife’s cooking, especially the pozole. Alex and him bonded over sports and the Dodgers winning the World Series. While you could not separate him and Gaby from watching La Rosa de Guadalupe. In February, Thomas and Maria would have celebrated their 26th anniversary.
Alex has become the sole provider for his family, while his mother, Maria, is a full-time care-giver to her disabled daughter who was diagnosed with autism and has mobility problems after a severe back injury.
In lieu of attending the funeral, given our current circumstances during the pandemic, we ask that anyone donate to this fund. Anything will go a long way to giving Thomas a proper burial while relieving some of the financial hardships that his family will be confronting during this unprecedented time.
