As some people may know, our family was struck with the devastating loss of our mother, Elzbieta on November 15th, and just three weeks later, the heartbreaking loss of our father, Valdemar on December 6th.
With expenses from two funerals, a home, an inherited business, and medical costs to manage, the three of us are overwhelmed, not only with grief but with new life duties. Losing both parents unexpectedly in such a short amount of time has not only left us with an unimaginable amount of sadness, pain and shock, but also with an endless to-do list of unforeseen responsibilities, from funeral costs to lawyer fees. All three of us are still in the beginnings of our adult lives and careers and these past few weeks have altered our lives forever.
Our parents were regarded by many as extremely gracious and generous. Over the past several weeks, it has been expressed to us numerous times that our parents were some of the most generous and caring people that some have ever met. Our dad, Valdemar extended his kindness through providing free dental care for many communities. Our mom, Ella founded the Polish Cultural Foundation, formally called the Polish Relief Fund, which aided Polish citizens in the fight for democracy. Over several years, they housed refugees in order to provide better opportunities for them in America. They never expected any reciprocation for their kindness and truly believed in creating a better world. If you wish, please view their obituaries here:
