Funeral Expenses for the Gardners

On Saturday, January 13, 2018, our family was struck by the tragic death of our father, Richard Golden Gardner Jr. and our brother Richard Gardner III, who were murdered at their home in Palmdale. (http://www.latimes.com/local/lanow/la-me-palmdale-homicide-update-20180115-story.html) The crime has left a void in our family, the community and in the lives of those who knew them. Since their passing, our family grieves while planning the funerals for both men. Richard Golden Gardner Jr. is survived by his five daughters, Karen Sanzone, Jennifer LeBaron, Mary Dean-Ronin, Sarah Galvan and Rachel Gardner and 11 grandchildren. Richard Gardner III will be remembered by his mother Barbara Gardner, his five sisters and he will forever be the “crazy uncle” to 5 nieces and 6 nephews.
Our family has been overwhelmed with the support, prayers and love of many during this difficult time. This combined outpouring has reminded us that even when dealing with tragedy, love will prevail and people are good. Our special thanks also goes out to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department who has shown the highest levels of professionalism while working around the clock to bring justice to the individual responsible for these horrible acts.
In order to bring our family together from across the country, and provide a proper burial for our father and brother we have established a Go Fund Me page (https://www.gofundme.com/funeral-expenses-for-the-gardners) and would invite anyone who is able to provide support to the family. Most importantly, whether you can contribute or not, we ask that your prayers continue in order to strengthen our family as we proceed through this challenging time.
All are welcome to the memorial services for Richard Jr. and Richard III on Saturday, January 27, 2018 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints at 8702 Atlanta Avenue, Huntington Beach. Services will begin at 2:00 pm. Graveside services will be conducted with immediate family previously. We recognize that Richard Gardner III was the successful owner of Eye Clean Windows Inc., and a well-respected member of the Palmdale community. A memorial gathering will take place in his honor in Palmdale, in the near future, so please check often as this site will be updated with the time and location. Our family would love to meet and thank all those who knew Richard III and were part of his life. God bless each of you, and as Richard was often heard saying, “love you more!”
