Our Thanksgiving holiday started out wonderful our daughter had volunteered to prepare our dinner.
I went to my mother's bed side and said " Happy Thanksgiving!" She smiled and told me Happy Thanksgiving! She had excitedly told me the night before that she wanted some turkey, and mashed potatoes. I told her I was going give some turkey and she started laughing (My mom was tub fed due to choking, but could eat soft or minced foods.) It's hard at times to understand what she's saying, but when she mentioned wanting turkey she was very clear.
I began to get her ready for the day and she was smiling and very happy. Just as I was finishing with her her arms fell to her side and she closed her eyes never to open them again. My mother was diagnosed with Parkinson and had to move in with us three years ago, so we could take care of her. She was not at the end stages of the Parkinson's and left us far too soon.
Needless to say, this was a very tragic and devastating loss to us all. and has put a huge unexpected financial situation on us, as it completely took us by surprise.
Thank you for any assistance you can provide to help us through this very difficult time.
