Donation protected
Richard Allen Altvater passed away February 2, 2023. This fund raiser is an effort to help with the funeral expenses in order to wish my father one final goodbye as we strive to make it as close to what he would have wished before resting eternally with the Lord whom has called him home. My father had no life insurnace and no assets that would help cover the costs of burial or a grave placard. Anything helps. thank you so much.

Richard Allen Altvater
June 9, 1949 – February 2, 2023

Richard Allen Altvater was born June 9, 1949 in West Grove, Chester County PA to Carl and Hazel Altvater. He passed away and went home to the Lord on February 2, 2023.

Rick was a hard-working man who believed in getting his hands dirty and living life to the fullest. He served his country honorably as a member of the U.S. Army. He was a no-nonsense type of guy who could tell you the answer to any possible problem you may have in life and almost every time he was right. From fixing a boat to building anything that required tools, Rick was the man to go to for direction.

During his life Rick had many talents, loves, and hobbies. He was a business owner, carpenter, and jack-of-all-trades. He enjoyed the outdoors and enjoyed the beach. His home in Morehead City, North Carolina was the vacation destination of all his friends and family. His absolute passion was playing guitar and singing for them. So often during barbeques or other gatherings, Rick would appear with guitar in hand to entertain all within earshot. Above all Rick’s biggest love in life was his friends and family. He cherished every moment that he spent with them.

Richard Allen Altvater is survived by his companion Sue Montgomery. His 3 daughters: Sommer Altvater, Amber Altvater, and Julie Wolfe. His 14 Grandchildren: Grayson, Autumn, Johnny, Ava, Mckenzie, Michael, Kadence, Chadd, Ryan, Brandon, Gage, Stacey, David and Angel.

There will be a grave-side service/ interment that will be open for friends and family at 11:00 am on Monday, February 13, 2023 at Gracelawn Memorial Park – Eternal Court, 2220 N. Dupont Highway, New Castle, DE 19720.
