Funeral expenses for Renae Petrella

In 2017 a very dear friend, Renae Petrella was diagnosed with stage 4 colorectal cancer. She has been in hospice care for about 5 months now. She has fought so hard since 2017 and now after the birth of her 3rd grandbaby just a few weeks ago she is entering her final stages. She is on routine medications for pain and anxiety as her restlessness has drastically increased. She is requiring around the clock supervision. She no longer is able to eat, she mostly just sleeps. Her husband, has been her full time care provider on top of working and trying to provide for their family. Her youngest son just graduated and is following in his brother's footsteps and enlisting into the military. She is continually battling infections due to her cancer and her body can't fight anymore. I know times are difficult for us all right now. I ask if anyone can please donate, any amount will go toward her final expenses. Any help would be greatly appreciated as Andrew has a lot to take care of now as he is left to care for his wife in her final days. She worked her life as a nurse, she focused on mental health nursing, addiction and geriatrics. She is a kind, caring, loving amazing women whom I am fortunate to have had the honor of calling my friend. Below is the original post shortly after the initial diagnosis. Her battle has been hard fought with so many additional challenges but she has fought a good fight and is ready for peace and to no longer be in pain.

Renae has spent her life dedicating herself to help others in need. She has worked as a nurse for 20 years, now she needs your help. Renae was diagnosed with stage 4 colorectal cancer in September 2017. Since that time she has been unable to work due to multiple hospitalizations, surgeries, chemotherapy, radiation and other complications. In addition to her cancer diagnosis she has been hospitalized due to acute kidney failure as a result of her radiation treatments. She is still awaiting at least one more surgery and another round of radiation and chemo. Unfortunately at the time of her diagnosis she had just changed jobs and was uninsured. She has accumulated a very large amount of medical bills. Due to the fact that she didn't have insurance she has to pay for each Doctor appointment. Each visit cost roughly $150.00 to $200.00. She is on multiple medications which all are out of pocket as well as other medical supplies she pays for on a monthly basis. Renae has two teenage boys as well. The financial pressure is all on her husband at this time. He is supporting his family of four, regular household expenses, medication, Doctor copays on top of missing work when she is hospitalized or has an appointment which no one else can take her to. Renae was such an inspiration to her co workers and all of her patients and their families. She is a very kind, passionate woman who has given selflessly for others.
