I am starting this GoFund me for my childhood best friend Erik/Mendez Family deal with the loss of their beloved father Porfirio Mendez. Porfirio lost his three week battle to Covid-19 on June 25th, 2020. He is survived by his loving wife Margarita, his three children, Erik (26), Dalia (9) and Diana (20). 

Porfirio Mendez, also known as Chino,  lived on the coast for 27 years. He owned 'Porfirio Steam Carpet Cleaning' for 17 years  . Not only was Porfirio the pillar of his family, he was the breadwinner too. Outside of work, Porfirio devoted a lot of his time to his family. He enjoyed long bike rides along the coastal trail, playing soccer with friends and bonding with his kids. Family man and loving friend  are very few words to describe him. He was full of light, positive energy and truly cared for others. 

I am asking for help to compensate for any funeral costs, bills and  medical expenses that accrued during Porfirio's hospitalization. The Mendez family have been impacted financially due to SIP as well. As a friend to Erik/ The Mendez family, I am hoping that as a wonderful & caring community, we can come together and  help this family get back on their feet.
