With a broken heart and an empty soul I share the news with all of you that my mother, Patricia Jean Windhurst Loya, has passed away. She left us on Dec 20th 2025 due to heart failure caused by COPD. If you knew her or knew of her you would know that she fought tenaciously with the goal of eventually getting a lung transplant. She was very proud, as are we, at how far she had come to achieving that goal. She was a very strong and stubborn woman who loved to joke and to laugh. She was someone who opened up her home to any who needed it…including all the dogs I would sneak into the house. Even though she had been bed ridden these past few years, it did not for a second stop her from being loud and full of life. Often times I would hear her singing to herself, yelling at the crows to leave her squirrels alone, or lovingly tease her kids as they came home. She was the noise and the spirit of the house and her absence is deafening.

She leaves behind 4 siblings, 5 children (one is adopted but we still love him), 2 grand kitties, no grandchildren (much to her frustrations) and a scurry of squirrels that she loved to watch from the window everyday. I will now have to feed those squirrels for her for all of eternity…

My mother's wish was to be buried with photos of her children in the cemetery here in Vacaville. We will honor that wish and since many of our loved ones have expressed interest in helping as well we have put together this gofundme.

To all who shared in our struggles, our laughs, and our headaches over the years...my siblings and I thank you dearly. She meant the world to us and now we must learn how to maneuver through life without her. Not sure yet how we will manage but I know all of you will help pave the road. Thank you.
