Funeral expenses for our brother Shawn Chapman.

Hey everyone. I want to start by saying thank you to everyone who has posted on Shawn’s Facebook page, reached out to our family, prayed or just sent good vibes our way.

On Tuesday, November 2nd, my mom, my brother Shawn, Shawn’s daughter Chloe, and my cousin Katherine were all traveling toward Logan from my mother’s house. Two men in an SUV swerved into their lane and struck my mother’s car. From what the police have said, those men had a large amount of drugs in their vehicle. All four of my family members were seriously injured. My mother, niece, and cousin are all still hospitalized with very severe injuries. My brother Shawn unfortunately succumbed to his injuries in the crash. My family lost a brother, son, dad, nephew, grandson and friend when Shawn passed.

Shawn was known for his infectious happy personality. No matter how he was feeling, he’d put himself on the back burner to make you smile and feel better. He was the most selfless man anyone could ask for. He was the best father to his daughter Chloe, who adored him as much as he adored her. Anyone who knew Shawn personally knows his big smile all too well. If he saw someone he knew in public, regardless if they were 10 feet or 100 feet away, that smile would stretch across his face and he’d push those eyebrows up in pure joy just because he saw a familiar face. He will be greatly missed by so many people. Our family is torn without our brother. My mom is trying to recover and is having to do that while coping with the loss of her son. My niece is trying to make it through her recovery without her dad.

But his memory will be in our hearts forever. We will always feel the love that big smile gave us.

Unfortunately, death is coupled with funerals and those aren’t free. My family and myself are trying to make sure Shawn has a proper burial fit for someone as great as him. Whatever you can donate is appreciated. No matter how big or small, our family thanks you. If you cannot donate, and that’s fine, do me a favor and share this too.

If there is any funds left over after the funeral expenses, we will put them in a college fund for his daughter Chloe.
