In loving memory of Nadia Guerra Ruiz

Donation protected
During the end of February, Nadia Guerra-Ruiz passed away from a hard-fought year-long battle with cancer.  Nadia was a patient, faithful, spiritual woman, as well as a loving and compassionate wife, mother, sister, daughter, and friend. We are saddened that we have to say goodbye to such a beautiful person so soon. She was loved and supported by her husband Edgar Bernardo, her son Alejandro (14), her daughter Andrea (16) and many more. Nadia worked as a paralegal after she graduated from Rutgers University. When her children were born, she dedicated her time to caring for them and volunteering. Nadia was an active member of the St. Francis Cathedral and School where she was a former Co-President of the HSA, Girl Scout Troop Leader, Class Parent, and Spanish Teacher. She taught as a Spanish teacher at St. Helena’s School as well. She attended St. Francis Cathedral in Metuchen and Our Lady of Mount Carmel RC Church in New Brunswick, where she served as a catechist.

The Ruiz family would appreciate any donation that would go towards funeral expenses. Nadia, an alumna of Mount Saint Mary’s Academy, would turn to the Our Lady of Fatima grotto on her alma mater’s campus with her family for spiritual guidance. They visited every Sunday and brought flowers to Our Lady. They always stayed praying and asking God for comfort and strength during this difficult time over the course of the year. Some of the donations will be used to repair and revitalize the area surrounding the statue so that others may find the spiritual guidance they seek. Thank you for your love and support.
