Hello, my name is Tawanna and I’m trying to raise money for funeral expenses for my dad, James, known to many as Junior.

On December 31, 2024, I received a call that my dad wasn’t answering his door, and I found that kind of weird because it was after 6 pm and dark outside. So I went to his house and began banging on his windows with no response. I then went to the back of his apartment and saw that the Community Paramedics had left a wellness check slip on his door on December 30th. I became even more worried, so I started ringing his neighbors' doorbells until one answered. Once inside, I went to his apartment and opened his “unlocked” door, and there he was, laying on the floor struggling to breathe. I called 911. Once they got him to the hospital, he went into a coma and never woke up. The staff at the hospital were magnificent and did an exceptional job with my dad. They ran all possible tests and couldn’t find any medical reason why he wouldn’t wake up. My dad passed away on January 12th at 9:19 am, and I was right there by his side.

This is an unfortunate and unexpected time for our family, and every little bit will help us and will definitely be appreciated.
