Funeral Expenses for Luci Murillo
Donation protected
Months ago, we came alongside a family from Honduras that needed help and shortly thereafter we became friends. Their children have also found a special place in our hearts. In the early morning hours of Wednesday, June 14th, this young family lost Luci, a 23 year old mother and wife, in a tragic automobile accident. She was commuting to work to support her family. Her husband was also critically injured in the accident.
Luci left Honduras nearly 6 months ago walking to America as a migrant seeking asylum with her husband, Jorge, and 2 small children. God led us to their family in February. Our hearts were broken as they welcomed us into the their home. 11 people filled a small house with no beds, warm clothing, or food. We tried to help the best we could. Luci's family found themselves in country not their own where everything was foreign and language barriers complicated things.
Would you consider coming alongside this family to help cover burial expenses for Luci? The family also needs a lot of prayer and we ask that you remember Jorge, the children, and family. Jesus looks beyond the social, economic, cultural, and political statuses of a person and looks at the heart. As you consider a response on behalf of this family, remember the bigger picture and the Lord's words in Matthew 25:40:
“The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for Me.’
Prayer: Lord, you speak a language that has no barriers... please Lord, hold them close. Help them to feel your love. Surround them all Lord. May they feel your presence. Amen
