Funeral Expenses for Lisa Johnson

Hello all. I come to you in a time of sadness and grief – sadness for the untimely demise of my mother, Lisa Johnson, and grief from watching a life deteriorate and end due to a life-long struggle with drug addiction. Anyone who knew my mother, loved her infectious laugh even despite her not-so-ideal circumstances. She was a jokester, a natural comedian. I sometimes wondered if her humor was a way to cloak and mask her depression and struggle with addiction. The Lisa Johnson I last saw before she passed was a shell of herself and almost beyond recognizable. It hurt my heart to see someone who was once so strong, so frail and weak. It is not easy to see a person who had such vitality barely able to stand. Although hard to comprehend, I would continuously tell myself that drug addiction was not her choice or weakness, but an incurable mental illness that she would one day conquer. She was a soul who yearned for love and help that she did not know how to ask for.  I just hope she knew that we always loved her and had a glimmer of hope that she would one day beat it and come back to us. So that is what we will try to remember - the woman we always hoped and knew she could be. 

It is not in my character to ask for help but we, as a family, ask for any help towards a proper burial and memorial service for my mom as she finally rests her heavy and complicated life in peace. Anything you can contribute is so greatly appreciated and many thanks for taking the time to read this.
