Late Friday night/early Saturday morning my aunt suffered a massive hemorrhagic stroke in relation to an aneurysm that ruptured. Grade 5 brain bleed. This was completely tragic and unexpected. Unfortunately this beautiful soul will no longer be gracing us with her presence here on earth.
Attentively my aunt is scheduled to be in the OR tomorrow at 6:30 for organ donation. This morning we met with newcomers funeral home on shelbyville road to make arrangements. Upon making arrangements we learned that the life insurance policy that was in place is being contested. (It's been less than 2 years since it was purchased). The insurance company isn't paying out for funeral services at this time. If this time wasn't unexpected and devastating enough, now we are trying to figure out paying for the funeral expenses. If by chance the insurance company rules in our favor ( could be up to 6 months) then we would donate back all money raised to the Kentucky and Southern Indiana Stroke Association in Kim's honor. She was a former board member, advocate, and volunteer for this non profit organization.
If additional money is raised more than funeral cost then those proceeds will be donated to the Stroke Association as well.
