Funeral Expenses for Kevin Gilhooly

On Sept. 27th 2021, the world lost a great father, friend and all-around great person. At the young age of 52, Kevin Gilhooly was called to be by God's side once more.

Although I wish I was talking about Kevin at his retirement party, it is a great honor that I can share my experience, no matter how brief, will all of you. I first met Kevin 12 years ago and as odd as out story is, it will forever be one of my fondest memories. Being the step-father to his beautiful daughter Alexis, we decided that if we were going to co-parent, we might as well get along for everyone's sake. With that a friendship was created. I use the word friendship, but that word does not do justice to the bond we had. His family became mine and my family became his. Weekend cook outs, children's birthday parties, highs and lows, Kevin was there no matter his situation.

I write from my experiences with him, but I know if you were to speak with the countless others whos lives he impacted, they all would say that Kevin was the kind of person you could always count on no matter the situation and would quiet literally give you the shirt off of his back if you were in need.

Kevin was a man of very little needs and did not live above his means. A blue collar worker like so many of us, he worked and lived paycheck to paycheck, but still found the little extra to help others in need. Now that he's no longer with us, his family could use some of the same love and support that he was so well known for. As we all know, funeral expenses can be sudden and quite great and while his son Corey and daughter Alexis take on the task of laying him to rest, I am reaching out to friends, family and to anyone who knew this amazing man to join me in alleviating some of the financial burden that comes with losing a loved one.

As I end this tearful message, I want to thank all of you in advance for anything you may be able to help with even if it may only be thoughts and prayers.
