On Tuesday, April 2, 2024, Kenneth “Kenny” Lamonte Sowell, 57, was taken off of life support after an unexpected trip to the hospital following a fall the week prior. Kenny was no stranger to the hospital, due to being born with Sickle Cell Anemia and receiving a cancer diagnosis later in life, however this hospital trip was completely unforeseen and unexpected, leaving his family shocked and unprepared for the expense of his funeral costs.

As former husband and friend of Lori Sowell, father of five children, Kenneth Lamonte “Monte” Davis, Vanity Matte, Ranesha Sowell, Jaexon Sowell Sessoms and husband Tai Sessoms and Malcolm Sowell, “Opa” to many grandchildren, brother to nine siblings and uncle to numerous nieces and nephews, Kenny’s family is completely devastated by his sudden absence and unprepared for the high cost of his funeral expenses. Family has come from near and far to say their goodbyes, and due to unplanned travel expenses, abrupt leaves of absence and the overall devastation of the loss of a loved one, I am asking for ANY form of help so that Kenny’s family can give him the memorial he deserves to honor his memory and say their last goodbyes.
