Update- Keith passed away today December 10th at 5:15 pm.
Our family is heartbroken as we prepare to say goodbye to Keith Ervin Hill, a loving 57-year-old husband, father, and grandfather who has fought bravely through years of serious illness. On December 8th, after returning home from a doctor’s appointment, Keith suffered a sudden medical emergency in the car. He began making a sound his loved ones recognized as a death rattle, and 911 was called immediately. When first responders arrived, Keith had no pulse. They worked tirelessly on him for nearly two hours before they were finally able to get a faint pulse back. He was rushed to the hospital and placed on life support so that out-of-town family could gather to say their final goodbyes. Doctors have told us that Keith will not recover, and our family will be removing life support on December 10th.
Keith had been saying for the past month that he believed he would pass on December 9th, the anniversary of his father’s death. While he held on through that day, our family finds a bittersweet sense of peace knowing he will still be reunited with his dad. Even in his final moments, Keith chose to be a hero. He is donating both kidneys and his liver, giving three families the gift of life. That is the kind of man he was — selfless, loving, and one of a kind. Keith leaves behind his devoted wife, Sherry, who has been his full-time caregiver for years and has been unable to work due to his declining health. He also leaves behind three children — Victoria, Montana, and Vincent — and five grandchildren who adored their Papa more than anything.
Anyone who knew Keith knows how unforgettable he was. He had a huge personality, a warm heart, and a sense of humor that could light up any room. His passion for music, especially The Who, was unmatched — but the only thing he loved more than music was his family. Unfortunately, Keith did not have life insurance, and with years of illness, medical struggles, and lost income, the family is now facing overwhelming funeral expenses during the most painful time of their lives. We are asking for help to cover: • Funeral and burial costs • Memorial arrangements • Support for his wife, who is facing life without her husband • Any unexpected end-of-life expenses Any amount, no matter how small, will help ease this burden. If you cannot contribute financially, please keep our family in your prayers and share this fundraiser in Keith’s honor. Thank you for helping us honor Keith Ervin Hill — a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and hero whose legacy will live on through the lives he is saving.
