Funeral Expenses for Jose Guadalupe Lopez

Donation protected
My name is Joanie Lopez, and on behalf of my Lopez family, we are fundraising for my uncle Jose Guadalupe Lopez's funeral services to help lay him to rest. Any amount or share of this page is greatly appreciated, and we thank you beforehand.

Jose Guadalupe Lopez Lopez was born in 1953 in Pastor Ortiz Michoacán. At 10 years old, my paternal grandparents migrated to Tijuana a la Colonia Pancho Villa, where my tío and his siblings grew up during their teenage years. He is 1 of 10 children, with 2 brothers remaining. In the 70s, my tío grew out his long straight hair and got into boxing. Shortly after, he married my tía Maria Guadalupe and migrated to Fresno, then permanently to San Diego, in Logan Heights. They were married for 50 years. Mi tío would eventually have four children, ten grandchildren (he considered my niece, his granddaughter) and three great-grandchildren. His occupation of 54 years was the agriculture of flowers; he went on to own his own Flowershop/ranch, where he worked for around 23 years. He planted seasonal flowers such as sunflowers and the Mexican flower, cempasuchitl, which he was still able to plant a few months ago for this year's Día de Muertos with the help of his primo Marcos. He planted flowers and often tomatoes, chiles and fruits. He also cut wood and sold it during the wintertime. He worked every single day, whether it was a holiday or not. He donated to the YMCA of Encinitas and other youth non-profits every year. In his leisure time, my tío enjoyed watching baseball and listening to his favorite music, such as El Charro Avitia y Los Hermanos Zaizar. He nicknamed everyone he met. Mi tío Lupe was also always saying a dicho, "iguanas ranas" "para que tanto brinco estando el suelo tan parejo" or my favorite "las monedas se hicieron para rodar y los billetes para volar." My tío was also one who introduced me to my indigenous culture. He was so proud to be an "indio" and loved his crystals y piedras and indigenous iconography with which he adorned his hands and neck. There is so much more about him, but one thing for sure is he lived a strong full life with the people he loved. He went on to beat skin cancer twice, but ultimately his liver was the one that gave out. My tío has taught our family to be strong, even in difficult times, to never give up in life, a estar avispado como decia el, to not be afraid and to take risks, and that God is the only one who decides our destiny. We will forever honor him in the many ways we know how, learn to be more like him, and pass on his teachings to the little ones our lives. I love you!!! ❤️
Descanse en paz, mi tío Jose Guadalupe Lopez Lopez, El Tigre, El Galan, El Kalimán!!
