Funeral Expenses for John Flewellen
Donation protected
This campaign is dedicated to John Flewellen of Lawton, OK. John was a two-time cancer survivor, but sadly he lost his third bout against the disease. John had a vast community of people who loved him. He is survived first by Karon, his wife of 41 years. They enjoyed traveling together, going on their Tuesday movie date nights, and taking joy in family events with their five children - Shaun, Shane, Kelsea, Skyler, and Slater - and their two grandchildren, Fletcher and Brooksey. He adored his two dogs, Ginger and Gizzy, and his cat, Fluffy.
John has had an extensive and varied career path. John was a proud Vietnam veteran, and served seven years for the U.S. Army. After service, John entered the civilian ranks as a government contracted IT specialist. Next, John decided to enter the teaching community, and worked as a substitute teacher for Lawton Public Schools for many years. Most recently, he worked as a Personal Care Assistant for MacArthur High School. He has earned the respect and love of his school community, both co-workers and students alike. And the feeling was mutual - he cared so much for his students and would do anything for them.
John's family and broader community will miss him dearly. The family would be grateful for any contributions to assist with funeral expenses. John's memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 10th, 2:00 p.m., at First Baptist East Church in Lawton, OK.
