It breaks my heart to have to announce the passing of my beloved father, Jimmy Epps. Some were made aware of a recent surgical procedure he just came home from on Monday, November 15th. I would check up on him numerous times throughout the day however after failing to get a response on Tuesday November 23rd, I rushed to his home to find him. Paramedics were called and it was pronounced he had passed, upon arrival. My heart is truly broken. Many were not aware that just a few weeks prior to release he was admitted October 24th with chest pain which was the result of a mild heart attack.

My Daddy spent his life helping others through his job at Candice Apple and Associates. A graduate of High Plains Senior High School, class of 1956 and Business Administration graduate of Croft Business College, class of 1969. A member of both the Eno-Occaneechi Indian Association and Cherokee-Powhatan Indian Association, he was very proud of his heritage. A lifetime member of Calvary Baptist Church in Roxboro, NC where he grew up. He assisted numerous agencies throughout his years including the Triad Health Project.

Jimmy was a humble, selfless, loving and caring man. He LOVED his family and friends. He would always end his messages with an ‘I love you' as well as send out daily affirmations on a regular basis. He was very well known around the community as ‘Pop’… taking the time to clean up during his daily walks and planting flowers throughout the complex he stayed in. Additionally he loved taking time to help at the food pantry with Renaissance Church in High Point, NC where he had an amazing church family that also loved him. But above ALL… He was my father. He was Ava’s grandfather and BEST friend. Ava was his FIRST grandbaby and her fierce protector. We loved him so very much and his absence will forever be felt.

Currently his body is still in custody of Moses Cone, pending autopsy results. Funeral arrangements will be updated as I am able. Donations are greatly appreciated and will go towards all funeral arrangements as well as any lingering financial obligations he left behind. I thank you all for the kindness, love, and support you have shown Ava and I as we navigate through this difficult time in our lives.
