Hi, my name is Sherri Anderson and I am a single mother. My loving, beautiful daughter Jasmine "KIRA" Anderson passed away in my arms at the age of 26 on Monday, April 12, 2021 at 02:55 pm at our home in Novato , Ca. Kira was born in Greenbrae, Ca, in 1994. Kira was a competitive cheerleader for both Pop Warner Broncos in Jr High and Varsity Cheer in her Freshman and Sophomore years for the Novato High School Hornets. Kira then transferred to NOVA Independent Study where she graduated in 2011. She worked in a variety of jobs in retail, as a barista, as a server, and as a bartender. Kira enjoyed life and was very giving and generous. Kira enjoyed reaching out to the homeless and usually spent part of her Christmas giving gifts in person to those she met on the streets.
I am asking for donations to help cover funeral expenses. Kira was put to rest on April 19, 2021 at Valley Memorial Park in Novato, Ca. A very dear friend used his credit cards for these services and I need to pay him back. I also still need to purchase her marker (head stone).
On November 12, 2020, she was rushed to the hospital after suffering a head injury. The ER staff worked hard to save her but I was told that Kira was not expected to survive. I then called all her siblings and we were allowed to come say our good-byes. They had her on a ventilator and she was unconscious. About 2 hours later she was still holding on so they transferred her to ICU. At that time I was told they didn't expect her to live longer than 3 hours.
With the restrictions due to COVID-19, I was lucky enough to be allowed to remain in the ICU with Kira due to the severity of her condition. During this time I was unable to work and had no income.
Kira did regain consciousness and a few days later pulled out the breathing tube and began to show improvement. However, during the hospital stay she developed a horrible bed sore that never healed and caused her so much pain .
She was released on November 27, 2020 to return home on Hospice and not expected to survive long. Kira required 24/7 care that I provided. Hospice provides limited service. Hospice staff came out once a week to check on her wound and order medications and medical supplies. I did all the wound care and administered her medication and all her other needs.
I continued to stay with her to provide care for her at home until she passed. Kira loved life and fought to stay alive. She suffered everyday, mainly due to her bed sore, until the end. I miss her so much and my only comfort is knowing that she is no longer in pain.
My employer has been very compassionate and understanding. I took time off from work from November 12, 2020 until now and they are allowing me to transition back into my job. However, this time off was without pay.
I have depleted all of my savings and I really need some help at this difficult time.
Please give what you can. Thank you in advance for your contribution.
