Funeral Expenses for James "Llucky" VanDyke
Donation protected
My close friend Llucky recently passed away, the morning of 12/31/23. He was an adventure in itself, lol there was never a dull moment that's FOR SURE! He loved making people laugh but would also be someone you could talk/vent to and regardless of the topic he would match your energy, always! Which makes the venting process SO much more satisfying.... lol Llucky was the type of person who would always drop by, just to see how you're doing that day and enjoy each other's company for a little while before he needed to get on his way to check in on the next person. He loved collecting weird, random little trinkets to gift to all of his friends and we all loved seeing the interesting stuff he'd stumble upon. A year or two ago he started experiencing intensely severe levels of pain all over his body and went to the hospital, where he was told that he was septic and had a blood infection. That was a pretty scary journey. The medical staff had to place a pick line, to easier administer his medications. We later found out that the pick line was placed too close to his heart, and it was actually rubbing against it at times which caused damage. He was then diagnosed with endocarditis, which is an infection of the heart's inner lining that usually involves the heart valves. This occurs when germs and bacteria from other places in the body travel through the blood and attach to damaged areas of the heart. A lot of his time was spent in hospital beds after that, receiving WEEKS of antibiotic treatment but still ended up needing to have a valve replacement surgery. Llucky seemed to feel a lot better after recovering from the procedure, for a while. His other heart valves would then end up with infections and be damaged, to the point of not being treatable. It was now time to just help him be comfortable.... leading to hospice and then his passing. We want to give him the ceremony he deserves to celebrate not only his life, but the hell of a fight he put up so that he could remain with his loved ones for as long as he possibly could. The costs of funeral services and cremation are very intimidating and I'm reaching out and asking for some help, please.... whatever amount of help you can provide to assist us with saying our final goodbyes and laying our Loved One to rest, in whatever form you're able, would be forever appreciated! <3 Even if the only help you're able to give is sharing this link so as many people as possible see it, that would be extremely helpful, and we'd be very grateful. Thank You so much for your time and kindness.
