Funeral Expenses for Herb & Mike Hendricks
Donation protected
I have been debating for days if we should reach out and ask for help in paying for their funeral and burial expenses but now I find I don't have a choice. I am asking on behalf of our family, especially Herb's daughters, Ashley and Alyssa for help in covering the costs to bury our brothers and their father.
Mike passed away on January 1 of this year from an abdominal aneurysm and Herb passed away March 28 of a heart attack. Both were very unexpected. Both of my brothers were kind of in a transition period so neither of them were working at the time and had no kind of income or insurance that would cover any of these costs.
Herb and Mike would do just about anything they could to help anyone(especially me!) over the years.
Mike moved to Tucson to try and start over. He was living with our cousin Nate, fixing up his place for him while Nate was out on the road and also looking for work to get established. He ended up in the hospital just before Christmas with an abdominal aneurysm which they tried to treat but his kidneys were failing and then he had an infection so they couldn't operate. They were treating him with medicine and were going to wait a month to see if they could operate. I talked with him on New Year's Eve and he sounded so good and full of hope. He wanted to get better enough so that he could move back to WI by us.
Herb moved in with me and Vicky in November after having a lot of challenges while living in MN. He wanted to make a fresh start and was progressively doing better. He had quite a bit to work through but he was doing it. He was working towards getting a job and to move out on his own. He was always there to help me and Vicky even though he wasn't feeling good himself. Some days he just couldn't and we understood. He felt bad that he wasn't helping me more and I kept telling him not to worry, we'll figure things out. He felt bad because I have Vicky with me now and helping her and then him. I kept telling him, you were both there for me through everything, let me be there for you.
On behalf of our family, thank you for anything that you may give and know that it will go to their expenses.
