My granddaughter Georgia "Turtle Girl" was born on March 16, 2013, with a genetic disorder (ADSL: adenylosuccinate lyase deficiency) that manifests with lots of seizures and a lack of development across the board.
Georgie was also born with a sweet, loving personality. She loved to be held, sung to, and she loved her Mom and Dad, Miranda and Jhonny, very much. She showed it with smiles, laughter, and crooning contentment.
Her parents made sure Georgia had the best medical care, multiple therapies, and they learned the ways of SSI, special needs equipment, medication pronunciation and administration, how to feed her through a g-tube, and many other acts of love. But we knew that Georgia's prognosis meant that she would not be with us for long. On June 20th, 2022, after several days of intense seizures that multiple trips to the ER could not fully resolve, Georgia passed away at home.
I am currently in Tacoma helping the family make arrangements for this sweet girl. Because I had enrolled her in People's Memorial (look it up, Washingtonians!), a funeral home co-op, the expenses are not as much as they could be, but still well beyond what her parents can afford. Please donate to help with these final expenses if you can, and accept our gratitude for doing so.
