Hi everyone,

I'm writing this on behalf of my boyfriend, Anthony Mazzetta, and his family, as they face one of the hardest moments of their lives. His mother, Gena Mazzetta, went to the hospital on June 26, 2025 to receive IV antibiotics for an infection. What was supposed to be a short stay turned into a life-threatening emergency - Gena coded and has since been placed on full life support in the ICU.

Over the past few days, her condition has rapidly declined. Doctors have gently advised the family to begin preparing for the unimaginable - saying goodbye.

This was sudden and completely unexpected. Just days ago, they believed she would be returning to her long-term care facility, where her children frequently visited and brought her joy and comfort. Instead, they are now facing the heartbreaking reality of planning her funeral.

Gena was a devoted and proud mother. Her children - Anthony Mazzetta, Vincent Latela, Jared Latela, and Gabi Latela - were her greatest joy. She beamed with pride when Jared became the first in the family to graduate college, celebrated with Anthony just last month when he earned his GED, and constantly spoke about the amazing young woman Gabi has become. She also adored her grandchildren, Charlie and Aiden, who brought light into her life.

This loss is devastating on its own, but even more so knowing that Anthony, Jared, and Gabi have already endured the pain of losing their oldest brother Vincent, as well as Anthony and Gabi's father Jim (Gena’s late husband). The emotional weight they carry is heavy - and now, they are facing the financial burden of giving their mother the dignified farewell she deserves.

If you know any of them, you know how deeply they love. They are the kind of people who show up first when someone else is in need - always giving, never asking. Now more than ever they could use the love and support of those around them.
