Hi Friends, Family, and Kind New Friends
My name is Cassandra , unfortunately we discovered my mom Gabriela (Gaby) in our house in the morning this past Monday 11/29 when she had passed overnight and went to heaven. My mom was a young woman in her early 40’s , a single hardworking blue-collar mom from the Bronx, NY, she would light up any room she walked in , and she raised her three (3) kids to be respectful, responsible, humble, and happy, resembling exactly like our mom was, a beautiful soul. She had hopes for us to go to college, eventually get a house for us all to live in instead of renting, wanted to see us grow up and get married, etc. and she will sadly now never be able to see that happen except from Heaven.
This unexpected tragedy has now thrust myself to now take on my mom's caregiver role for myself, my brother Julian and my youngest brother D’Angelo .Prior to this happening we had just finished thanksgiving. My mom Gaby and all of us were so excited and looking forward to Christmas, going to mass, and lighting up our Christmas tree. Our excitement for Christmas and outlook for the future has now turned dark in lieu of the events thrust upon us young kids. We were raised to provide for ourselves but with the sudden loss of our mom as a main bread winner we are humbly forced to ask friends, family, strangers, and the kind people everywhere for urgent help.
Many people have inquired what the situation is for us now. The fact is that because our mom, like many other single moms in the Bronx where the average family income is extremely low, live pay check to paycheck with either very little or zero savings and have no life insurance to pay for events like this. This has left myself and my brother, albeit we worked basic retail jobs to help our mom, to have a huge burden thrust upon us that is overwhelming. The kind donations that are made will absolutely go directly to the family except for PayPal credit card processing fees, they will help us be able to have funeral services and a memorial for our mom, pay for food, pay for rent and utilities, pay any of my mom's debts, help pay for school costs, hopefully allow us have some sort of happy Christmas, and help us after the New Year with any unforeseen expenses. As I stated, its like our Christmas Tree with the loss of our mom has gone dark, but we setup this GoFundMe account in hopes that each donation will be like a light going on to make our holiday and future just that much brighter and hopeful. Can you help "light it up"?
Would you be Angel like our Mom and help us?
Warm thanks,
Cassie and Julian
