Funeral Expenses for Evelin Janet Reinoso
Donation protected
Evelyn Janet Reinoso Diaz peacefully passed away on March 1st, 2023, at 34, in her home in Inglewood, California after a long battle against Lupus (kidney failure). Born on December, 14, 1988 in Los Angeles, CA to mother Marlene Diaz from El Salvador and father Angel Reynoso from Mexico. Evelyn was a beloved daughter, sister, aunt, cousin, niece, neighbor, friend and artist that inspired and touched many hearts throughout her life.
She loved her name. It never left her, it was always there and it never changed. It was all hers, only hers.
Evelyn lived a happy childhood, one filled with special moments with her parents, younger siblings and beloved primos. Her quinceañera was grand, she looked like a princess. Later that year her life would change forever, she was diagnosed with Lupus. Her world was shattered. Almost immediately after, her health took a turn for the worst and she was diagnosed with chronic kidney failure. For 18 years Evelyn was on life-sustaining dialysis multiple times a week for long shifts at a time, faced daily physical and dietary restrictions and was in and out of the emergency rooms so much that many local paramedic and hospital teams knew her by name.
Evelyn’s home environment was never stable or traditional. For a long time, this saddened her, she felt forgotten. In recent years she realized that her life journey so far had allowed her to foster a beautiful community of protectors: her chosen family. Many of whom at some point welcomed her into their homes with open arms and love. Eventually, Evelyn found her independence and with the support of her family and community, she started living on her own in her hometown of Inglewood. Most recently, she lived in a casita with huge closets, a beautiful garden in the front and great neighbors. It was a dream come true.
There was only one name on the lease: Evelyn’s.
Despite her hardships, most people that knew her would tell you that Evelyn was FULL OF LIFE. She greeted you with a smile, asked you a question, and shared a funny story or a juicy chisme. She was silly, she was fun. She loved children and animals (and they loved her). Snoopy, her dog, was her life. She loved food shows and anything Disney. She was a pop culture junkie. Loved music and dancing. She collected special and unique items. She loved makeup and kept up with beauty trends. She was the biggest fashionista with the best personal style. She was a true artist and enjoyed oil painting, drawing and sketching her entire life - proudly signing her name on her works of art.
We have started this Go Fund Me account to fundraise funds for Evelyn’s funeral expenses. Her parents are hard-working people doing their best like all of us are, Evelyn’s mother works at McDonald’s and her father is a gardener. They are devastated and need our financial support. Everyone within Evelyn’s network of loved ones is doing their part already: fundraising, donating and honoring her final wishes as we plan her celebration of life. Given Evelyn’s geographical location (Los Angeles, CA) the funeral expenses total around $20,000.
From the bottom of our hearts we ask that you share this link with friends & family and if possible support us by donating. Evelyn was a beautiful soul and she deserves a proper goodbye. ANY AMOUNT IS A HUGE HELP. We thank you so much. May God bless each and every one of you.
