Funeral Expenses for Eugene Nelson
Donation protected
I’m sad to announce that our beloved father Gene Nelson succumbed to heart failure on December 16th, at 11:44 a.m. He had just celebrated his “39th” birthday on Sunday, December 13th, 2020. Our family believed he would live many, many years into his old age. He believed he was “immortal” and was the hardest working person I have ever known. Many of his friends and colleagues have mentioned that he helped their elderly parents with home renovations, and that he never refused to help with any projects where he could utilize his many talents. He was a skilled carpenter, electrician, mechanic, plumber, and basically a jack-of-all-trades. Even on his days off you could find him working on one of his many projects or tinkering around with his big yellow Hummer. His smile and corny jokes could fill a room with laughter. My brother nicknamed him the Unofficial Mayor of Shiprock. He loved his community and he is the only person I’ve known to run the Shiprock Marathon relay race in his work boots.
His passing was swift and unexpected. Our father was a private person especially when it came to his health. My brother Zach and my sister Kelly and I are asking for monetary donations at this time to cover funeral expenses and other unforeseen costs due to his passing. We greatly appreciate the gift and ask for prayers at this time.
P. S. He was 58 years old.
