Funeral Expenses for Erlinda Aguilar

My mom, Erlinda Aguilar, went to a rehabilitation center on January 2022, to help strengthen her shoulder. At the center, she was neglected, contracted Covid-19, MRSA, a urinary tract infection, low blood-pressure, low blood sugar which eventually led to severe kidney damage, liver damage, septic shock, cardiac arrest and brain damage. She lost her struggle and passed away on Friday, May 20, 2022, two weeks shy of her 79th birthday.

My brother and I thought she had her funeral expenses paid. Instead of paying for the funeral services, Forest Lawn sells you an insurance policy that covers funeral services when needed. Mom purchased the policy but for some reason, she only paid for eight months in 2010 before canceling her policy. Because Forest Lawn sells you an insurance policy for funeral services, her eight months of premium payments cannot be used as credit towards her funeral expenses. They are forfeited.

The bright side is that we know what kind of funeral mom would have wanted all the way to the kind of casket she would like.

So, my brother, Arnel, and I are asking if you would please be able to help us raise the $13,500.00 in funeral costs for our mother. The end of the campaign will be on her birthday, June 3rd.

Mom lived a simple life and would be embarrassed that I am asking for help. But, would also be pleased with a warm and full heart if she knew how many people reached out with prayers and love during her final days here on earth.
