Funeral expenses for Elizabeth-Joy (Lizzy) Musaga

Donation protected

On Sunday morning, August 15, 2021, the car driven by my daughter Elizabeth Musaga skidded on a back road during a heavy rainstorm and hit a tree. Lizzy, as she was known to her friends, was trapped in the car and pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. This unexpected accident has left both her grandmother and I (her mother) in a state of total shock and disbelief. All funds raised during this campaign will be used to cover funeral expenses. Any funds raised over the immediate funeral expenses will be used to cover unexpected expenses resulting from the accident and to ease the financial burden of our family as we recover from this trauma.

Lizzy’s laughter was contagious. When she was on the phone with her friends, the entire house shook with laughter. She would light up a room with her smile and her infectious laugh.

In addition to her incredible sense of humor, her friends describe her as a very kind and compassionate soul. She was always there for her friends to confide in or to provide a shoulder to cry on in addition to being a wellspring of strength.

Elizabeth’s caring and compassion shone through as she took extra special care of her aging grandmother. She spent hours translating for her grandmother, interpreting her mail, making phone calls on her behalf and running daily errands for her.

Elizabeth loved to cook, and she prepared many delicious, gourmet surprises for us. We always looked forward to her latest new recipe as we celebrated Christmas and our birthdays.

Lizzy spent two years at Drew University in New Jersey. Then she left as she discovered her true passion as a make-up artist. She took additional classes at the local community college and refined her skills in make-up, hair and nails. Her family, friends and clients will all surely miss her wonderful beauty treatments. She dreamed of starting her own cosmetic line. She worked for Glamour Shots and other companies in the Baltimore area. As an entrepreneur, she grew her client base through Instagram and other social media platforms.

Lizzy was only 24 years old at the time of the accident. This tragedy is compounded, because her older sister Francesca died 9 years ago the exact same week after a two year battle with acute leukemia. Francesca was only 25 at the time of her death. So, I have sadly lost both of my daughters and my only two children in the space of 9 years. Their grandmother and I are in total shock and are entirely heartbroken.

If you are able, please consider making a donation to help cover the expenses related to Lizzy’s tragic and unexpected death. Donations of any size are very much appreciated. Please consider sharing this campaign with any of your friends, neighbors, relatives and business colleagues. Never in a million years did we ever expect that Elizabeth would be called home to heaven so soon to join her sister.

Thank you in advance for you generosity.
