The Chaparro family will hold two services - one in Chicago where Sandra raised her family and one in Texas, where she and Mr. Chaparro met and began their life. Sandra Chaparro will be laid to rest in El Paso, TX and what this gofundme campaign is for. We wish to support the family with expenses for services in Chicago and Texas as well as the transportation services necessary to bring Sandra to her final resting place in Texas.
Friends of the family would like to honor this wonderful woman that many of us were fortunate to know. Anyone who knows Mama Chaparro’s kids know that she left an imprint of herself in them and that the good we see in them, is because of who she was.
Beloved wife of Alejandro Chaparro, Sr. of 39 years; loving mother to Jimmie, Sandra Yadira, Alejandro Jr., David and Ricardo; doting grandmother to Vanessa, Jimmie Jr., David Jr., Nathan and Zoe. She is also survived by siblings, uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Sandra Chaparro welcomed all into her home, life and family with open arms. She served everyone with love and grace and she never left a single place without making a friend or making someone laugh. She was incredibly proud of her children and loved them deeply. She adored her grandchildren and spent time recounting stories and marveling at all that her grandchildren did.
Her home was a safe haven for whomever needed a place where you were sure to be offered food several times. There will never be another handmade flour tortilla, menudo, mole or pozole that will warm our hearts and bellies more. If there was a gathering she was cooking, serving and laughing - a real life of the party. Her gift of hospitality was unrivaled. She embodied the fullness of what it meant to serve others before herself and she was a beautiful example of how loving on others brings about a life of abundance.

She was an eternal laugher, joker and lover of the Lord. She planted mustard seeds wherever she went and made the most of everything in life. Many came to her for advice as she always had a listening ear and the desire to impart a word of encouragement. She was resourceful and when life was hard, she never let it harden her. She had a unique way of multiplying all that she had and sharing with others all that she could.

She was a forever storyteller. There was not one story you hadn’t heard but also hadn’t laughed at time and time again.
She loved to dress up and never missed an accessory. She loved her wedges and wore them in every season. There wasn't a rimmed sun hat or visor she didn't love but her best dress was the expression of God's love in motion.
She had a heart for people and was an advocate for equality, education and social justice. Her kids were raised seeing their mom involved in their school districts, the community-at-large and rallying for people to have a voice. She was a true fighter, champion and mountain mover. If there was something you needed support with in prayer, she'd have two times the faith you did and was ready to support. She was also ready to encourage and remind you that action and prayer, go hand in hand.
The legacy of who she was is forever woven into our stories.
