Funeral Expenses for Dave Woodward

Donation protected
There's a styrofoam box of sweet and sour chicken sitting unopened in Amanda's fridge.   A good bye tour on their journey out of town underway, starting with Chinese take out.  David and Edi's car was packed up and ready to start their new adventure returning to David's home town in Rhode Island with pit stops planned along the way to hug his other loved ones.  The apartment was completely empty, the echoey kind of empty.   It only made Edi's screams reverberate off the walls more intensely when she called her soon to be niece screaming "David's dead! David is blue!".

Our family lost our beloved Uncle David last night so suddenly, so unexpectedly, he was gone between the time he placed his Chinese order and the time it arrived.  The entire family is in complete shock and utter grief.  To his fiance, Edi, he was a glorious act 2, as she was to him.  To his three children, he was the rock.  He was the dependable parent who's love and support remained steadfast through every hill and valley. The relationships he maintained with his children is admirable by anyone's standards. To his nieces and nephew, he has ALWAYS been a father figure, but even more so since they lost their own dad years ago.

David didn't have a mean bone in his body.  He exuded love. The hole he is leaving is immense and will be felt for a long time to come.

The family is currently seeking funds to cover final expenses, as there is no life insurance policy of savings account in place.  David leaves behind 3 beautiful children.  Dylan (31), Darrah (25) and Heather (21).  All three children in their very early stages of early adulthood left to bury their father and shoulder the financial burden of all that comes with losing a parent.

Every dollar helps.  No donation amount is too small.  Any funds not used for the funeral and final expenses will be put away in to a savings account for the kids and allocated in their father's honor.  Therefore, in the moments of young adulthood when something unexpected and trying happens, the moments where you would call your dad and say "I crashed my car and I need to pay the tow truck $200", Dylan, Darrah, and Heather can use the money left in honor of their father to help them the was he would have wanted to.  Because the only thing worse than grief is not being afforded the luxury of grief over financial stress.

We cannot thank you enough for your love and support during this very difficult and unexpected time.
