My dad, John Cooper, passed away unexpectedly on June 14th at the age of 53. I don't want to make this GoFundMe about begging for money, but i've learned that if you need help to not be ashamed. I will be 100% transparent with you about the financial situation. My family has gathered together $3,000 to put towards the funeral and tombstone costs which total roughly $9,000. Leaving $6,000 left to pay. My dad did not have anything in place to help my mom pay for this. She is absolutely heartbroken and the last thing I want her to worry about is paying for everything. I will do everything I can to come up with the money so she doesn't have to.
My goal is to come up with half of the remaining costs through this GoFundMe and I will find a way to come up with the other half. I'm not going into this expecting anything and no one should feel obligated to donate. It was just last year that we were raising money for my mother-in-law who passed away unexpectedly and everyone was very generous. With that being said, I don't expect people to donate money to yet another unexpected funeral. Any money raised with this will be going straight to the funeral and tombstone costs. If you would prefer to donate straight to the funeral home you can do so by calling Miller Funeral Home at: [phone redacted] and tell them it's for John Cooper's funeral expenses.
No matter what happens, I know that it will all work out in the end. I'm thankful for anyone who decides to contribute and everyone who has sent well wishes. It means a lot.
