Funeral expenses for Rosa Elena Ramos Villagomez

My dear friend Rosa Elena Ramos Villagómez was found brutally murdered in her home on Christmas Eve. We are all still reeling from this devastating loss: Rosa Elena was generosity and joy personified, and her friendship was a true gift to everyone who knew her. She was only 44.

She was most proud of her two amazing children, Danna and Bruno, whom I've known since they were little and who are now both in college. I am organizing this fundraiser on their behalf to cover funeral expenses and other costs stemming from this crushing, unexpected loss.

"My mother, Rosa Elena Ramos Villagómez, was a happy person with an incomparable sense of humor. She was always fair and humble, and she loved her animals and her family, especially her children, us. Her life was taken by someone she lived with for less than six months and separated from two years ago. She was a victim of femicide after more than four complaints and restraining orders were made to the police, with no arrests. The state failed my mother and that is why she ended up in this fateful end. We want justice for my mother and for the other women who have to be victims of this corrupt and inefficient system.”

It will be a long road for her children, but any amount you can donate is greatly appreciated and will help to ease the financial burden for her surviving family.
