For those of you who don't know me, my name is Briquelle Hoppes and my daddy, Brian Hoppes, passed away a few days ago. He was a kind, hilarious, intelligent, and tender-hearted man. He battled health issues for several years, ranging from end-stage renal failure to multiple esophageal problems. This fall, he underwent a very serious and complicated surgery, which ended with him spending 7 weeks in the ICU. Doctors thought he wouldn't survive but, by a miracle and some Hoppes hard-headedness, he was able to make an incredible recovery and go home for nearly two months.

Recently, he began experiencing complications and was admitted to the hospital again. Theu found he had cancer in his lung/trachea. After fighting for so long and then hearing this devastating news, he told us he was tired and was ready to rest. We are so thankful for his peaceful passing, but we miss him terribly and are truly heartbroken.

I have had several people reach out to ask how they can help us and, although I struggle with asking for and accepting help, assistance with funeral costs is our greatest need at this time. Due to his kidney failure for the past 4.5 years, no one would approve him for life insurance and, therefore, we are paying for everything out of pocket. We have been very blessed to have been able to make his funeral as affordable as possible, but it is still pricey, of course. Thank you all in advance for any help you're able to provide.
