Braxen's Funeral Expenses

On the evening of Friday, December 1, 2023, our family lost a bright star while heaven gained one. Sweet, 17- month old Braxen Lucas Russell Shaffer passed away suddenly leaving behind his mommy, daddy, big brothers, baby brother and a large extended family.

Braxen was a joy and light to everyone who knew and loved him. He had a smile that could light up a room and warm your heart instantly. He was a sweet boy who loved to dance, eat, video chat with family and play with his big brothers and cousins. When he laughed you couldn't help but laugh along with him as his laughter was so cute and joyous. His sweetness and contagious smile will be missed by all.

When he passed his mommy, Jessica Lucas, was 33 weeks pregnant with his baby brother, Harvey. Jessica was a high risk pregnancy and as you can imagine, the stress and heartbreak of losing Braxen was too much for her body to handle and caused her to go into preterm labor. Seventeen hours after losing one son she brought another beautiful baby boy named Harvey into this world. Harvey is currently in the NICU working hard to overcome the difficulties that come with being a preemie baby.

Jessica and James are in need of help at this time with funeral expenses, and help covering monthly expenses so they can take some time off to grieve the loss of Braxen and be there for newborn Harvey while he is still in NICU.
