Funeral expenses for Braden Blankenship

Donation protected
Hi everyone. This is my brother Braden. Recently turned 34 years old. Son to Wanda and Brad Blankenship, brother to Natalia, Josh, and Christina, and a good friend to many. A caring, compassionate, and loving person. If anyone knew Braden, you knew he was just a ball of energy. And if you reallyyyy knew Braden he was like a cat with 9 lives. He always kept everyone on their toes. However, he was always willing to help his family and friends whether it be shoveling snow, mowing grass, or doing yard work he was there. He recently was taken to the hospital due to sepsis in his lungs and lack of water/food intake these past 5 days. Braden dealt with substance issues and different addictions and battles only close family members knew of. Because of the sepsis in his lungs, he was given some sort of antibiotic that should’ve helped with the infection. He was in an okay state before the antibiotic and was able to talk to and recognize my mom. Unfortunately, it went downhill a few seconds after the antibiotics were put in his neck. It was supposed to help and unfortunately did the complete opposite. Everything happened super suddenly. This caused Braden’s heart to stop resulting in 30 minutes of continuous CPR. Braden passed away Tuesday, July 18th. Braden had dealt with a lot in his life and constantly battled addiction. With strenuous efforts from everyone around him to help him get clean, it wasn’t enough. It was an on-and-off battle of getting sober. Although his addictions didn’t necessarily cause his death, it is clear that it played a role in his mental and physical state. This gofundme will go towards his funeral expenses. Even though his addiction isn’t what caused him to pass, it is important to note that if you know someone dealing with an addiction and they refuse help from you and others, it is not your fault. Addiction is a serious mental illness that affects the brain in all sorts of different ways. Don’t give up on someone battling addiction because you never know what the next day looks like for you or them. Anything helps and we appreciate your donations. Thank you.
