Honoring Benjamin J. Marin- our dad

Hello everyone, Our dad, Benjamin Marin Sr., 69 years of age, was a victim of a gunshot wound that took place on April 15, 2023, a Saturday afternoon in broad daylight. He was NOT gang affiliated in any way; he was simply a bystander in a random act of violence- a drive-by shooting- that took place adjacent to an Ice Cream shop in Northridge, CA. The shooter, Jamal Jackson of Panorama City was arrested the next day and is currently in custody, awaiting court hearings but has not yet been convicted of his crime. Our dad was shot center mass on the scene but was able to receive medical attention during ambulance transportation and in the local hospital. However, after multiple surgeries and treatment attempts, he will not be able to make a full recovery. We received the unfortunate news that his body was giving up, and now we must say goodbye to him. Our dad was a very kind hearted man that did not see the bad in anyone he encountered, and he definitely did not deserve this to happen to him by any means. News link of shooting Personal Background- He immigrated to the U.S from Mexico in the late '70s with his wife for work and a chance at attaining the Amercan Dream. He owned a car detail business, Quaizar-his dream was to grow it into family run business. He taught his children the value of hard-work and the importance of faith in God. He is survived by his wife, five children, and nine grandchildren that love him very dearly and are overwhelmed by sorrow to see him go.
