Funeral expenses for Barbara Damon
Donation protected
My grandma Barbara Damon passed away, on her 79th birthday, March 10th, 2019, at 1:23am. We all sang "happy birthday" to her at midnight and then everyone left to get some rest, except my Grandpa Walt who fell asleep beside her holding her hand as she was born into eternal life. He swears that he felt her squeeze his hand right before the nurse walked in to let him know. She is now at peace, free from the suffering in her body and is interceding in power for us all.
Barbie was unconventional and rebellious. A teen mom at 16, my grandma was not your typical Catholic woman of the 1950s. She worked classy office jobs and was a truck driver. She was a connoisseur of fine things and fashion. She was strong, sharp, hilarious, sexy, sassy, stubborn, clever, quirky, a history buff, an excellent cook, believed with a childlike faith and wonder, and loved fiercely and loyally. I could go to her with any questions and she would always provide real and honest answers. To a fault. She was imperfect and flawed and battled plenty of dysfunction in her life, but she was humble and penitent, owning her shortcomings and moving forward in faith. She turned everything over to God and was a willing instrument in His hands. She was our rock through many hard times in our lives. I know she will continue to be.
To help with the expenses associated with her funeral and burial, we (her family) are raising money with this campaign. Unfortunately there was not an insurance plan that my grandma had to help with these costs. We are planning her service for the end of the week and Barbara's daughter Debbie had to charge most of the expenses up front, so any support you're able to give within the next week is greatly appreciated.
