The fight for Baby Yaser

Assalamualikum,
Peace to you all.
إِنَّا لِلّهِ وَإِنَّـا إِلَيْهِ رَاجِعونَ
"Surely we belong to Allah and to Him shall we return."
Community. One of the many blessings we have taken for granted, to physically gather together and celebrate each other's successes and grieve each other's losses. On April 8th we lost 8 months old, Baby Yaser, son of Mahmoud Sayed Abdel-Rahman and Basma ElRayes. After accidentally falling, he was on life support the last hours of his life, may Allah have mercy on them and give them the patience during these trying times.
At 6 am on April 6th, baby Yaser 9 months old, son of Mahmoud Sayed Abdel-Rahman and Basma El-Rayes, fell of the bed which caused his heart and breathing to stop. He was rushed to the hospital where he was resuscitated. His heart stopped and was resuscitated total of 6 times within 48 hours. He was on life support the last hours of his life until Allah choose to elevate his pure soul to Janat Al-Firdaws at Fajr time of the blessed 15th night of the Holy month of Shaaban, April 8th at 6 am. May Allah have mercy on him and give the parents the patience during these trying times.
Not only did they lose their youngest son, but the Department of Child Services (DCS) also took away their other two children, one of 4 years and the other 2.5 years. Mahmoud and Basma are wonderful individuals and more importantly amazing parents who have kept a safe and clean environment at home. Many can attest to their character and the morals and values that they carry.
Mahmoud and Basma are currently fighting the system with the support of many professionals in the community to regain custody of their children while mourning the loss of their youngest. This is any parent's nightmare.
We physically cannot share our condolences and our support to the family, however, we may show our love and support during these difficult times by supporting them financially as they fight to regain permanent custody of their two children.
Baby Yaser suffered from medical negligence when medical professionals refused to perform CT scans on his head even though the parents have requested it three times. They also experienced brutal and inhumane treatment from law enforcement and DCS when taking the children away from them.
All funding will be given to Mahmoud Sayed Abdel-Rahman and will be used towards:
1. Funeral and burial expenses.
2. Legal expenses for getting the baby.
3. Legal fees as they fight to regain custody of their children.
4. Medical expenses during Baby Yaser's stay at the hospital.
Please make dua and keep Baby Yaser and his family in your prayers.
Brother Abdulwahab Abashaar, a team member on the campaign, was given permission by Brother Mahmoud to withdraw the money on his behalf.
Please make dua and keep Baby Yaser and his family in your prayers.
If you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to contact Imam Ahmed Alamine, Imam and Religious Director at the Indianapolis Muslim Community Association (IMCA), at [email redacted]. Imam Ahmed is supporting and working closely with the family to ensure that their needs are met during this difficult time.
May Allah reward you all and protect your loved ones.
Jazakum Allahu Khairan.
With nothing but love and support,

Peace to you all.
