On Sunday, June 8th, my worst nightmare became a reality. Around 2 a.m., my little brother Ashtin was shot and murdered. Ashtin is my favorite person on this planet. He’s so funny, so sweet, and has a heart of gold. He would do anything for those he loves, and so my hope is to make sure that at his funeral, we send him off with the absolute most love and beauty possible. He deserves nothing less, and I will not settle for less. Ashtin has always had a very tough life, and I tried as hard as I could to finally give him peace and safety. It was right at our fingertips before it was ripped away.

It crushes me to say it, but he’s found peace now. He no longer has to run, or fight, or try to survive in this big bad world.
