Support the Funeral Expenses of Alan C. Jennings

Donation protected
It is with a heavy heart that I find myself sitting here writing this to any and everyone who clicked this link. This GoFundMe page was created to support the funeral expenses of my little brother, Alan Chase Jennings, whose life was abruptly taken from us on Sunday, September 8th, 2019 . Our ʻohana created this GoFundMe to give friends, family, and members of our community the opportunity to honor Alan’s life, and help us give Alan the burial he so rightly deserves.

Alan was twenty years old, just barely beginning to live his life. What happened to Alan was incomprehensible. His life was precious to us and to all those he ever shared time and space with. He did not deserve this. Yet despite our families pain; despite this void that we carry in our hearts; despite the anguish we feel everyday when we walk past his bedroom, knowing that he will not be there.

Despite all of this and so much more, we still choose love.
We still choose to hold space for his perpetrator and their ʻohana and to pray for him by name. We continue to intercede and stand in the gap for this man and his family and wherever they’re at in this moment in time. As difficult and heartbreaking as it is, we choose to stand and say, “Do not be afraid!…Even though you intended to do harm to [us], God intended it for good…”(Gen.50:20). If Alan were here today, he would have extended forgiveness in a heartbeat and so as we try to honor our brother and our son, we make a conscious decision every waking minute of every day to choose love. To choose compassion. To choose forgiveness. And in this we know that Alanʻs spirit lives on and that our God is glorified.

Listed below are other ways you can come alongside our family:

1) We ask that you continue to pray for our family (Tacadena, Jennings, Scanlan, Emosi, Pakele, Bertellotti). Pray for strength. Pray for healing. Pray for peace.

2) Words of affirmations and words of encouragement.

3) Help us honor Alan’s life by sharing your memories of him.

4) Lastly you can support us in praying and extending love to the perpetrators ʻohana.

Any money raised above what is needed for funeral expenses will go to our immediate family to cover medical expenses and as we live day by day in the aftermath of this tragedy.
