Hello Family and Friends. We are sadly, once again, going through another heartache in our family as we say goodbye to my mom’s sister, my aunt Esperanza. On Sunday, July 24th, my aunt died unexpectedly as a result of complications during what was supposed to be a simple, low-risk medical procedure and left us all devastated and completely unprepared with this sudden and tragic loss. Those who know our family can remember this very strong woman, and although she had a spicy personality, she had a BIG, BIG HEART! If you ever visited her, she would prepare a meal for you even if you weren’t hungry – she was ready to feed you or insisted on taking you out to eat, every time. She was one of my mom’s closest siblings and helped my mom through the most challenging moments in her life when we lost my dad. This loss opened up wounds that were just beginning to heal. I could always count on my aunt to get my mom out of the house and spend time with her when my mom wouldn’t want to leave the house after my dad’s passing. And even though my aunt could barely see over the dashboard, this tiny little lady would drive the distance all the way from Moreno Valley to Norwalk, and back to Moreno Valley, where my mom would often stay weeks at a time and these sisters enjoyed every minute of it. I am truly thankful for my aunt because she got us through a really difficult time. We were all devasted the day she passed, and although she was blessed with a long life, just days short of turning 89, she was still a very strong woman. We were all unprepared and didn’t have the opportunity to say goodbye. And so, with a heavy heart, I humbly ask those that knew her, those she blessed, or those whose hearts are moved to help, can help lessen the hardship my aunt’s family now faces with the immense cost of funeral expenses. Any amount will help and is truly appreciated as we prepare to lay to rest our beautiful aunt Esperanza. For those able to attend, funeral services will be held at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Cemetery in Colton, CA on September 2nd - further details to follow. May God bless you abundantly and thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
