We are Emily, Stephen’s only daughter, and Dustin, his son-in-law. We are starting this GoFundMe in memory of Emily’s father, Stephen, who passed away peacefully in his sleep on Friday morning, September 26th, from natural causes.

Stephen had been dealing with multiple illnesses for several decades and spent his final year in hospice care with us. We did our very best to make sure he was comfortable, cared for, and felt like an important part of his family every single day.

For more than 30 years Stephen worked as an experienced Technical Support Specialist at GBC, a career in which he built lasting professional relationships and sent him coast to coast on adventures. Outside of work, he found joy on the open road riding his motorcycle with his buddies and his little girl. Steve also loved music, especially playing the guitar; being in several bands growing up. His adventurous spirit carried him far and wide, as he traveled to many places creating memories across the miles. In his later years, after losing his ability to walk and live independently, his greatest joy was being a loving Papa to his only grandchild, Luna, who was his whole world.

Our main goal for this fundraiser is to help cover the costs of Stephen’s funeral and other related arrangements. Unfortunately, Stephen was unable to plan financially for these expenses, and we are now left to manage them during an already difficult time.

We are asking our friends, family, and community to consider donating whatever they can. Your support will help us keep our home, and allow our family to grieve without the heavy financial burden that so often comes with the loss of a loved one.
