This has been the worst few weeks in the life of our family.

Rodney "Rocky" Hill, father of Leann Hill, died on Sunday, May 27th at 8:38pm at the California Pacific Medical Center (Pacific Campus) in San Francisco, after suffering a massive stroke while on a cruise. Rocky collapsed at the table during dinner on Friday, May 25th, less than 12 hours before docking. The Princess Cruise Line docked in SF around 8am on Saturday, by which time he had already slipped into a coma. Our family had less than 48 hours to say our goodbyes before he passed, once life support was ended.

This past week, we've spent many hours planning a small memorial service which is being held on Friday, June 8th at the St. Francis of Assisi Parish in San Jose. Even a small memorial costs thousands of dollars in funeral home expenses. We're still waiting on the bill from the Church.

While in the middle of planning the memorial, our 12 year-old chihuahua-pinscher mix Nikko was bitten by a rattlesnake while on a walk behind our house around 7pm on Monday, June 4th. She was rushed to Silicon Valley Veterinary Specialists in San Jose, where she is undergoing a treatment of antivenom, IV fluids, and additional care. She's expected to be in the hospital for at least 24-48 hours. 

No one could have expected two expensive and tragic incidents to hit so suddenly. We're looking at a minimum of $5000 in funeral expenses and vet bills, and could use all the help we can get. Instead of cards or flowers, we're asking for help to pay these bills. Even a few dollars would mean the world to us, and help take the pressure off a bit. Any additional funds we receive past the bills will be set aside to help pay for the plot Rocky's ashes will be buried in. Thank you for your help.
